Stryker Village Councilman Dusty Potter had begun a conversation about stray cats at last month’s meeting, based on his personal experience. He said that rather than taking on an extended process of revising village ordinances, he found the county humane society can provide some assistance through a spay and neuter program. According to the Bryan Times, he said the humane society has secured a grant that funds a trap, neuter and release (TNR) program that village residents can use, explaining that the humane society can provide traps that residents can use. Residents then call the agency once they have a capture, and the humane society will come out and take the cat to be neutered and released.
