Surbey named Trooper of the Year at Defiance Post.

Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Dalton M. Surbey has been selected as the 2024 Trooper of the Year at the Defiance Post. The selection of Trooper Surbey, 27, is in recognition of outstanding service during 2024 at the Defiance Post. Fellow officers stationed at the Defiance Post chose Surbey based on leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiastic work attitude and cooperation with supervisors, peers, and the public. Surbey joined the Highway Patrol in 2021 and has served at the Defiance Post since then.
