The Swanton school district has begun distributing new laptops to high school students and fifth graders. About 500 were handed out Wednesday. The plan is to have the middle school students get theirs next school year. While 97 percent of the students say they have access to computers for school work, the administration wanted to give students the tools they need to succeed in college and in the work force. The schools use Google classroom, which allows students a safe way to keep track of assignments, papers and allows teachers to see their progress.
