Thefts being reported by hunters

Shortly after 8:30 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a theft complaint from a hunter on County Road 12, between County Road R and County Road S, who reported seeing two men go through his vehicle while he was in his deer stand. The hunter provided a detailed description of both men and their vehicle’s license plate number, which he got by using the scope on his rifle. Deputies turned the information over to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for investigation, but a second report came in from a hunter in the 21000 block of County Road R. He reported a break-in east of the county line so deputies stood by and secured the scene until Fulton County Sheriff’s deputies arrived. Around 2:15 p.m. Sunday, ODNR called the sheriff’s office for an assist with a third reported vehicle break-in, on County Road S between County Road 8 and Ohio 576. Deputies responded to check the vehicle for fingerprints. So far the suspects have not been identified.
