THINGS ARE HAPPENING AT INDEPENDENCE DAM PARK

Excit­ing things are hap­pen­ing at Inde­pen­dence Dam State Park east of Defi­ance this sum­mer.

Ren­o­va­tion of the marina park­ing lot and plan­ning of new activ­i­ties for vis­i­tors are in progress, and park offi­cials are get­ting camp­ing sites started up again, bring­ing bald eagles to the park from a reha­bil­i­ta­tion facil­ity in Put­nam County for pos­si­ble learn­ing work­shops for vis­i­tors and set­ting up an archery range.

The Inde­pen­dence Dam State Park is plan­ning on the ren­o­va­tions to be com­pleted and the pro­grams to start before the end of summer.
