Thomas E. “Tom” Neidhardt, 49

Thomas E. “Tom” Neidhardt, 49, of Hicksville, passed away Monday, March 4, 2024, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance, after a fierce battle with cancer. Tom was born March 20, 1974, in Hicksville, the son of Michael and Sally (Carr) Neidhardt. A 1992 graduate of Hicksville High School, Tom was a Marine Corps Veteran, attaining the rank of Lance Corporal, serving from 1993 until his medical discharge in 1996. Tom was a Maintenance Man for New Millennium for the past 22 years. Prior to this he was the Service Manager for Hoagland Electric. Tom loved being out in nature, whether hunting, fishing, or watching his children participate in their athletic endeavors, he was always there. He was an avid Ohio State fan, watching them every time the Buckeyes took the field.

Surviving are his three children, Logen (Sydney Bowen) Neidhardt of Gaylord, Michigan, Raegen Neidhardt of Hicksville, and Hayden Neidhardt also of Hicksville; his mother and stepfather, Sally (Mike) Hunter of Hicksville; two brothers, Jim (Tonya) Neidhardt of Springfield, Ohio, and Brent (Marsha) Neidhardt of Hicksville and his special friend, Tonya Liberty of Butler, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael “Mike” Neidhardt; grandparents, Gene (Mary) Neidhardt and Joseph (Mary Jane) Carr.

Visitation for Tom will be held Monday, March 11, 2024, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville. Funeral services for Tom will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2024, in the funeral home with Pastor Jerold Tear officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Home Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites accorded by a combined honor guard from the Hicksville American Legion Post 223, Sherwood VFW Post 5665, and the Farmer American Legion Post 137.
