The man tapped to replace Michael Chandler as sheriff is Tim Meyer. The 59-year-old sheriff’s deputy was chosen by the Putnam County Republican Central Committee to fill the unexpired term of Chandler who died unexpectedly last month following surgery. Meyer will serve until January first of next year. Two Republicans are vying for the GOP nomination in the upcoming March 15th primary, and no Democrats have filed for the seat. The winner of the general election will take over January first.
