According to the Ohio Department of Development’s fiscal year 2012 report, Ohio’s tourism grew to $40 billion in sales in 2012. The trend holds true in Northwest Ohio as well. Local tourism is up, and thousands visited our area in 2012.
Reports from the Defiance income tax office indicate there was a $29,000 increase in the hotel/motel tax from 2011 to 2012.
Fulton County Visits are also up, with large groups reportedly visiting places such as Sauder Village and Heritage Inn.
Henry County also has seen an increase in tourist visits, as has Williams County.
