A train accident Wednesday morning near Defiance… A CSX train and a dump truck collided at a crossing on Tittle Road just after 9:30 yesterday morning. There were six engines on the westbound train. All were damaged, including damage to the fuel tanks on each engine. The train took amost a mile to come to a stop after hitting the truck, which was driven by Charles Stiltner of Edgerton. Stiltner was taken to ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital with back and neck injuries. The train’s conductor was also taken to ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital with back injuries. The engineer was not hurt. The investigation into just exactly what happened leading up to the crash is underway by police and CSX authorities.
