Trial date set for civil lawsuit between City of Bryan and Ohio Art Co.

A civil lawsuit between the City of Bryan and a long-time business is set for a trial date in Williams County Common Pleas Court. The Ohio Art Co. is suing the city, the Bryan Board of Public Affairs and Bryan Municipal Utilities, claiming it was overcharged for water usage over a period of time. A pretrial hearing was held by phone and a trial date has been set for Nov. In the lawsuit, Ohio Art says that as a result of erroneous billing from the city, the company has been grossly overcharged for water allegedly used by it, adding it was charged for water it did not use. In its response, the city denies the allegations.
