Truck — Train Collision

A semi truck was slammed by a train. It hap­pened Sat­ur­day after­noon in the vil­lage of Leip­sic.

The Put­nam County Sheriff’s Office says just before 1 Sat­ur­day after­noon, the truck was trav­el­ing on County Road 5, north of Ohio 613 when it slid on the road­way and ran into the Nor­folk and South­ern train.

The dri­ver, whose name was unavail­able, was trans­ported to the Ambu­la­tory Care Cen­ter, Ottawa. The driver’s name and other infor­ma­tion has not been released. No word on that driver’s con­di­tion today.
