At an unre­lated inci­dent, 35-year-old Andrew Kendall of Bryan was arrested for resist­ing arrest. He had two felony war­rants issued in Williams County. Paulding man arraigned for armed robbery DECEMBER 9, 2015 · 1:49 AM A Pauld­ing man charged with rob­beries in two local coun­ties was arraigned Mon­day in Defi­ance County Com­mon Pleas Court. 26-year-old John Gos­nell pleaded not guilty to aggra­vated rob­bery, a first-degree felony with a firearm spec­i­fi­ca­tion. A pre­trial hear­ing was sched­uled for Jan. 7. Gos­nell allegedly robbed Defiance’s Speed­way store, 1802 N. Clin­ton St., with a hand­gun on Nov. 14, mak­ing off on foot with cash. He is being held in the Put­nam County Jail on an aggra­vated rob­bery charge in Pauld­ing County where he allegedly robbed a gas sta­tion at gun­point on Nov. 12. Fugitive found at Steuben County truck stop

An escaped fugi­tive was taken into cus­tody at the Love’s Travel Plaza at I-69 and U.S. 20 in Steuben County at about 5:30pm Mon­day evening.

Steuben County Sher­iff Tim Troyer says Charles Adams was rec­og­nized by some­one at the truck­stop. Troyer says the 28-year-old tried to flee but was quickly appre­hended with­out inci­dent by deputies and Angola Police.

It was dis­cov­ered that Adams swal­lowed pur­ported nar­cotics and dis­played signs of intoxication.

He was taken to Cameron Hos­pi­tal for an eval­u­a­tion and then trans­ported to a hos­pi­tal in Fort Wayne.

Author­i­ties say Adams walked away from a min­i­mum secu­rity dor­mi­tory at the Pendle­ton Cor­rec­tional Facil­ity on Sunday.

He was serv­ing a 730 day sen­tence on a charge of theft with a prior con­vic­tion out of Steuben Cir­cuit Court.
