Troopers are investigating a deadly crash in Richland Township. Lewis Belcher of Paulding, was southbound on Hire Road, south of Ohio 18 at the CSX railroad tracks, when Belcher stopped. Witnesses told investigators he then tried to drive around the lowered crossing gates and was struck by a train. Belcher died at the scene…a passenger in the vehicle was taken to an area hospital.
