Flames at a Defiance fast food restaurant on Monday morning sent two people to the hospital. The blaze broke out early yesterday morning, just before 4:30, at McDonald’s on E. Second St., in Defiance.
According to the Crescent News, one Defiance firefighter was taken to Mercy Defiance Hospital after cutting his hand. The firefighter’s name has not been released. In addition, a McDonald’s employee was overcome by smoke, and taken to to Mercy Defiance Hospital for treatment.
The fire was contained to the hood system in the kitchen, and firefighters were able to leave before 6:30 yesterday morning.
The cause of that early morning fire yesterday remains under investigation.
