Two Injured In McDonald’s Fire In Defiance

Flames at a Defi­ance fast food restau­rant on Mon­day morn­ing sent two peo­ple to the hos­pi­tal. The blaze broke out early yes­ter­day morn­ing, just before 4:30, at McDonald’s on E. Sec­ond St., in Defi­ance.

Accord­ing to the Cres­cent News, one Defi­ance fire­fighter was taken to Mercy Defi­ance Hos­pi­tal after cut­ting his hand. The firefighter’s name has not been released. In addi­tion, a McDonald’s employee was over­come by smoke, and taken to to Mercy Defi­ance Hos­pi­tal for treat­ment.

The fire was con­tained to the hood sys­tem in the kitchen, and fire­fight­ers were able to leave before 6:30 yes­ter­day morn­ing.

The cause of that early morn­ing fire yes­ter­day remains under investigation.
