Two men facing multiple drug counts appear in court

30 year old Rene Valdez and 20 year old Dakota Valdez were arraigned Monday in Putnam County Municipal Court on multiple drugs charges following a traffic stop over the weekend. A deputy with the sheriff’s office conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle on South Second Street at West Plum Street. One of the office’s K-9s indicted the presence of narcotic odor and the subjects from the vehicle gave consent to search. Among the items allegedly found during the search were quantities of cocaine, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, marijuana; and Oxycodone tablets. Total estimated value of the narcotics was $6,825. Deputies also located meth lab supplies, a large sum of cash and a loaded firearm. Rene Valdez’s bond was set at $150,000 while Dakota Valdez’s bond was set at $100,000.
