Two out-of-state men arrested after six-month investigation of marijuana distribution

A six-month investigation of marijuana distribution into northwest Ohio by the Multi-Area Narcotics Task Force (MAN Unit) concluded Monday with the arrest of two men. 33 year old Isidro Tovar of Gibsonton, Fla., and 58 year old Gilbert Garcia of Grand Prairie, Texas, were arrested Monday morning on Hotel Drive in Defiance on a charge of trafficking of marijuana. Assisting at the scene were MAN Unit agents, deputies from the Defiance County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Defiance Police Department. During the investigation, on two separate occasions agents with the MAN Unit purchased a total of 36 pounds of marijuana. Along with the marijuana, $40,000 cash was seized. A case file was presented to Defiance County Prosecutor Morris Murray’s office for charges related to the case, along with other charges stemming from the undercover operation.
