United Way of Williams County draws 400 to help pack meals

The United Way of Williams County needed 300 people to help pack meals Saturday morning at the Williams County Fairgrounds. They got 400. The 400 volunteers, ranging from children to senior citizens, packed the meals in assembly line fashion. The bags are placed into a box that will hold 36 bags. Bill Pepple, United Way executive director said Saturday morning there would be over 3,000 bags or nearly 80,000 meals at the end of the day. The boxes will then go to different food pantries throughout the county.
