Usage of Bryan Parks and Recreation amenities remained high in 2016. Department Director Ben Dominique said, during his annual report to council at Monday’s meeting, that based on estimates, 161,444 people used the Bryan Parks and Recreation facilities in 2016. Of that total, just over half (51 percent) were users of the city’s Community Center on Buffalo Road. Other popular facilities were the city’s shelters (15 percent of all total users) and the pools (14 percent). The former Lincoln Elementary school accounted for 1 percent of users. Dominique noted that facility has since been demolished.
