Velma L. Moor, 91

Velma L. Moor, 91, of Montpelier passed away Friday morning at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home in Montpelier. She was born on January 20, 1925 in Defiance to Vernon R. and Della V. (Bishop) Mahan. On December 25, 1945 she married Albert Moor and he preceded her in death in October 1972.

Velma was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Montpelier. She was a homemaker. She also worked as a nurse’s aide at Evergreen Manor and in private homes. Velma was a former member of the Montpelier Eagles F.O.E.

She is survived by three sons, Paul Moor of Montpelier, Dan Moor of Bryan and James Moor of Wauseon; two daughters, Lois (Alan) Clark and Donna (Donnie) Counts both of Montpelier; 15 grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren.

Velma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Albert, son Albert Charles Moor in June 2000, two sisters Elma Jackson and Donna Merrifield, an infant brother Earl Mahan, and one brother Donald Mahan.

Visitation for Velma will be on Tuesday, February 16th from 5-8pm and Wednesday from 11am-1pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. Services will be on Wednesday at 1pm at the funeral home with Pastor Calvin Pennington to officiate.
