Waneta Hetz, 83

Waneta Ann Hetz, 83 years, of Bryan, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Hillside Country Living with her family at her side.  Waneta was born May 4, 1931 in Hicksville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ed and Hazel (Scott) Potter.  She was a 1949 graduate of Hicksville High School.  Waneta married Carroll R. Hetz on November 10, 1951 in Hicksville, and he preceded her in death on September 25, 2003.  Waneta was employed by Fisher Automatic for 15 years, retiring in the early 1980’s.  She also worked in the cafeteria at St. Patrick Catholic School for 10 years.  She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.  Waneta had many interest, and she found great pleasure in reading, knitting, gardening and caring for her flower garden as well as playing cards with her card club friends.  She loved to bake and was well known for baking her sugar cookies.

Surviving are her three children, Jacquelyn (Gary) Howe of Ft. Myers, Florida, Robert (Diane) Hetz of Bryan and Susan (Randy) Kinney of Wichita Falls, Texas; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Luella Wonderly of Hicksville, Ohio.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carroll and one daughter, Kathy Litten.

Visitation for Waneta Ann Hetz will be held Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home – Greenisen Chapel, 225 East High Street, Bryan.  The Rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening in the funeral home at the conclusion of visitation.  Funeral Mass will be held Monday, January 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father John Stites officiating.  Interment will follow in Shiffler Cemetery, Bryan.
