Water Rates Go Up

The Bryan Board of Public Affairs approves a 7 percent increase to water rates for all customers during a special meeting. The way the math works out…officials say customers are using less water…so now they’ll be paying more for it, starting in December. Officials stress Bryan’s residential water rates will remain comparable to or less expensive than Defiance, Napoleon and Montpelier, though it is projected to be slightly higher than Defiance’s rates after a planned 7 percent increase in 2020. Rates for commercial customers will likewise remain comparable to the rest of the area.
