Waterloo Marshal’s Office investigating crash that left 1 dead and 2 injured Thursday.

The Waterloo Marshal’s Office is investigating a crash that left 1 dead and 2 injured Thursday afternoon. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office says the initial investigations revealed the driver of a pickup truck was eastbound in the 500 block of West Union Street, when it crossed the center of the road, crashing head-on into another vehicle. The driver of the first vehicle, identified as Chad Knott, 49 of Waterloo, was pronounced dead at the scene. Both the driver and passenger of the other vehicle were taken to area hospitals in fair condition. That driver has injuries to the leg, chest and head. The incident remains under investigation by both state and local officials.
