A Lucas County judge has ruled that Roscoe Gilmore Jr., the 63-year-old Waterville man accused of killing a fellow nursing home resident, is incompetent to stand trial and ordered him to receive treatment at a state behavioral health facility. At a competency hearing on Thursday, January 15th, the court received a psychological evaluation from the Court Diagnostic Treatment Center, which found Gilmore unable to understand the proceedings against him or assist in his defense, according to court documents. The Judge determined that with treatment, there is a “substantial probability” Gilmore could become competent within one year.
