Wauseon family recognized by Fire Dept.

The Ohio State Fire Marshal and Wauseon fire department honored a local family for taking safety measures that helped them escape a house fire last November. The O’Neil family accepted the Smoke Detector on Guard award. Their smoke detector alerted the father to a fire near their Christmas tree. He was able to get everyone out safely including a nine-month-old baby. The fire department stresses that everyone should have a fire plan and a working smoke detector.
