The Williams County Health District says statewide, 2,104 hospitalizations have been reported this flu season, through Jan. 5. That’s compared to 369 during the same time last year. There have been 10 hospitalizations for flu in Williams County, compared to just two at this time in 2017. In light of the recent death of a 4-year-old boy in Dayton, an infant in Toledo and three likely flu-related deaths of elderly people in Lucas County, Williams County Health Commissioner, James Watkins wants you to take preventative steps to help stop the spread of the flu.
