West Leipic woman killed in weekend crash

A sin­gle car crash early Sun­day morn­ing killed a West Leip­sic woman. The coroner’s office says 48-year-old Shel­ley Ben­nett died shortly in the crash on Put­nam County Road 7 near County Road D and went into a ditch. The crash was reported just after 1 a.m. in a 911 call to the Put­nam County Sheriff’s Office. Ben­nett was alone in the vehi­cle. The Ohio State High­way Patrol is inves­ti­gat­ing the cause of the crash.
