Willa Hanna, 103

We knew her as Willa, mom, grandma and great great grandma. Grandma truly was a great great inspiration to all the lives’ she touched. People immediately fell in love with her because of her joyous heart and positive spirit. Willa will now receive the love of her heavenly father, and the loved ones that she has left behind will forever feel her love in their hearts. Willa passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at the age of 103. She lived through both world wars, the great depression, the first landing on the moon, the prohibition, the invention of the assembly line and much more. There were many hardships during her lifetime but she always prevailed with an optimistic outlook on life.

Willa worked at the Ohio Art until her retirement, she received many awards over the years and passed along many etch a sketch’s to her grandchildren. Willa will join her beloved husband, Elbert Hanna, who preceded her death on March 16, 1978. Willa succeeded the life of her two sons, Theodore and Gerald Hanna. Willa was the grandma of 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren. She resided with her dearest daughter in law on Schick Rd. in Defiance, Ohio.

Her family will be holding a memorial service on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 11:00am at the Ney Church of God located on 3413 State Route 15 Ney, Ohio 43549. A graveside ceremony will take place following the memorial and luncheon at the Church for anyone interested in attending. Anyone wishing to make contributions should send them to her home at 19707 Schick Rd. Defiance, Ohio 43512.  Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, Ohio.
