Williams Co. Commissioners commit funds for child protective services.

After much discussion, Williams County commissioners have committed to guarantee funds for child protective services for the rest of the year. Williams County Job and Family Services sent a letter to the commissioners requesting they sign a commitment letter in order to certify funds for contracts for possible future services related to child protection services. A couple of months ago, a fiscal officer for the agency told the commissioners the agency was looking at a $700,000 shortfall in that area, but last week said current projections have the shortfall at $250,000.
