Ohio Gov. John Kasich is expected to unveil the state’s biannual budget today, just weeks after saying the state was heading into a recession and the budget “won’t be pretty.” Kasich’s regional liaison Lu Cooke, told the Williams County Commissioners Thursday that while “there will be money where there needs to be,” the budget will be “lean and mean.” The news did not bode well with Williams County commissioners who have been faced with ongoing budget pressures due partly to the state’s elimination of the Estate Tax and Local Government Fund and partly to ongoing drops in the county’s investment revenue.
