The Williams County commissioners were updated recently on a solar field project proposed for Springfield Township. According to the Bryan Times, the 1,100-acre field would be located at county roads 22 and D-75 and would include a substation, though Chris Snider of National Grid Renewables said the size could be as much as 1,200 acres. There is also the possibility of a battery storage facility being located on the site. “We are looking at starting the permitting process with the Ohio Power Siting Board,” Snider said, adding that won’t happen until at least November or December, and it may extend into the winter.
