Williams County Sheriff Steve Towns says his satellite office at the county fairgrounds in Montpelier helps him better serve the public. The Bryan Times reports the sheriff’s office, though, may have to share or vacate the house. Commissioners on Monday invited the county Department of Jobs & Family Services to tour the house to see if it would meet their needs for a larger site for supervised family visitations. JFS Director Fred Lord last week told commissioners them he was seeking a larger space, preferably in a house or less institutional setting, for supervised family visitations.
