Business owners, as well as state and local educators, met for a workforce summit at Northwest State Community College (NSCC) on Tuesday. The summit, titled Preparing for Challenges in the Workforce, included presentations from employers, officials from higher education, the state, high schools and chambers of commerce. Ryan Burgess, director of the Governor’s Office on Workforce Transformation, said there is a velocity of change. He said one study stated that 60 percent of grade school kids will have a job that doesn’t exist today.
