A three-year-old girl was killed last week in a southern Michigan house fire. Branch County sheriff’s deputies had to restrain the girl’s family from re-entering the house. It took a half-dozen fire teams about 90 minutes to extinguish the blaze, but they were never able to reach the girl due to heavy flames and smoke. Her body was found in the kitchen area a short time later. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
