According to Defiance County Sheriff Doug Engel, a 15-year-old boy is facing a criminal investigation after allegedly sending a “general threat” against Central Local Schools. Engel alleged that the teen made the threat against the district in a message sent via the internet on April 8 to another juvenile. Law enforcement was informed of the threat on Wednesday, 11 days later. The district reportedly learned of the threat on Wednesday afternoon as well. The student was “removed” from Central Local Schools on Wednesday. School superintendent Vicki Brunn noted that this is an ongoing criminal investigation and they are cooperating in any way they can.
