A Cecil man is facing charges following a two-year undercover operation by local law enforcement over the weekend. 27-year-old Orlando Perez Jr. is charged with felony trafficking in cocaine with major drug offender specifications.
The arrest came on Saturday. The Multi-Area Narcotics Task Force had been working an undercover operation involving cocaine distribution in northwest Ohio for two years. After agents purchases 276 grams of cocaine members of the Defiance Police Department and Defiance County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Perez on Defiance’s Ottawa Avenue. He was allegedly found with a small amount of marijuana and a large amount of U.S. currency. Perez is being held at the Putnam County Jail. A search of his residence recovered items associated with packaging and distribution of cocaine.
