41 year old Jade Herzog was apprehended by Williams County Sheriff’s Office deputies early New Years Day and is facing multiple charges after a crime spree and pursuit that began on December 26 in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. Herzog, who was on medical leave from the Hillsdale County Jail, walked away without proper authorization. He then went on the crime spree that included home invasion, car theft, and eluding arrest. Herzog attempted to ram a sheriff’s vehicle in a stolen pick up truck, then proceeded to CR-O in the area of CR-16 near Kunkle where he again attempted to ram another sheriff’s vehicle. Herzog lost control of the truck and crashed on CR-O. Herzog was taken into custody, transported by EMS to Community Hospitals of Williams County-Bryan and is now in protective observation at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo.
