Unnamed teacher investigated for student relationship

An Edgerton teacher is being investigated for an alleged sexual relationship with a 15 year old student while working for Montpelier Exempted Village Schools. Officials are not naming the teacher yet and it’s unclear if the teacher has been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation, or has been fired.
According to the case file, The Bryan Times reports the teacher is 22 years old. The alleged misconduct took place in the between Aug. 2013 and March of this year. At this point, Montpelier police have not uncovered any information that would lead them to believe other students had similar relationships with the teacher, nor have they confirmed multiple instances with the victim.
No charges have been filed with the Williams County Prosecutor’s office yet.
