17 YEAR OLD DROWNS OVER MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

A 17-year-old boy from sub­ur­ban Detroit drowned after the boat in which he and a com­pan­ion were fish­ing over­turned.

It hap­pened early Sun­day morn­ing near Wolf Lake in Lenawee County, about 15 miles north­west of Adrian.

Author­i­ties say police and fire offi­cials deter­mined that two teenagers were out fish­ing when their boat cap­sized.

18-year-old Steve Chapo was able to swim to shore. A dive team recov­ered the body of Jef­frey Walkowski Sun­day morn­ing about 8:20 a.m.
