Arrest made in a fatal stabbing that occurred in West Toledo

Police have arrested a man in a fatal stabbing that occurred in West Toledo late Sunday night. Authorities responded to the 5800 block of Georgedale near Alexis Road about 11:36 p.m. to find a victim suffering from at least one stab wound, according to a police report. The victim was identified as 42 year old Brian May. According to reports, May was treated by the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department but died at the scene. Police have arrested 21 year old Jack Birdsell who was found in the backyard of the Georgedale residence. Mr. Birdsell is charged with murder. May’s death is the 15th homicide in Toledo this year, and the 16th in the metro area.
