WILLIAMS BOARD OF DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES MEETS

The Williams County Board of Devel­op­men­tal Dis­abil­i­ties rec­om­mended a num­ber of items, includ­ing a rec­om­men­da­tion for higher pay for union mem­bers, dur­ing their reg­u­lar meet­ing Mon­day at the Enrich­ment Cen­ter.

The Bryan Times reports that fol­low­ing an exec­u­tive ses­sion to dis­cuss a col­lec­tive bar­gain­ing agree­ment, the board voted to rec­om­mend the Williams County Board of Com­mis­sion­ers pass a res­o­lu­tion to imple­ment the employ­ers’ last, best and final offer for Local Union #779. The Board’s offer included a 3 per­cent increase on base wages and the elim­i­na­tion of the wage scale.

Also at Monday’s meet­ing, Bill Priest of Quadco reported that recently five con­sumers at Quadco have got­ten jobs out in the com­mu­nity. The Sub­way restau­rants now have 15 con­sumers work­ing in them and oper­a­tions are smooth at the shel­tered work­shop set­ting at Quadco. Preist said the annual pic­nic in Arch­bold was a success.
