Central Local High School principal submits resignation

Members of the Central Local School Board expressed regret over the loss of high school principal Phil Witker, whose resignation was accepted during a brief regular board session Monday. Witker, who has been with Central Local for two and a half years, is leaving as of Dec. 30 for personal reasons; no other explanation was given. In other business, the board: • noted that work has begun on the installation of LED lighting throughout the school. Workers may delay conversion on outside areas of the building due to inclement weather. A boiler will also be replaced over Christmas break. The project will be paid for via House Bill 264, which allows school districts to make energy efficiency improvements toward their buildings and use cost savings to pay for them.
