Toledo post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash

The Toledo post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred early Wednesday morning south of Metamora. According to troopers, at approximately 3 a.m., a car was southbound on Fulton County Road 1, failed to stop at U.S. 20 and collided with a semi tractor with a flatbed trailer hauling steel coils. Both vehicles reportedly traveled off the southeast side of the roadway. The vehicles struck an electrical pole before becoming engulfed in flames. The driver of the car reportedly died at the scene. The semi driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation and names are being withheld pending identification.
