Big LaGrange Fire

Several buildings in downtown LaGrange catch fire and burn for hours. The fire started in three buildings housing a Family Dollar store, Gould Sports and an ethnic grocer on North Detroit Street. Several hours into the blaze, the building housing the Family Dollar store collapsed. Then, the roof of the sporting goods store failed as firefighters were trying to get out of the structure…they’re ok. Several businesses, community members and family members of the firefighters brought water and food to help fuel the crews in the more than 12 hours they battled the blaze.
