After Bryan police swooped in on “Addicted To Ink” on Main Street in Bryan on Thursday morning to enforce the city’s new ordinance prohibiting the sale, use and purchase of synthetic drugs and synthetic drug lookalikes, not much has changed.
Police confiscated the store’s stock of spice, K2 and similar “potpourri products, but so far, no one has been charged and the store remains open.
The new ordinance which was approved one week ago today by Bryan City Council, makes it punishable by a $1,000 fine and/or a maximum 180 days in jail if convicted of selling or possessing synthetic drugs in the city.
Police say store owners and employees will be charged if they attempt to sell, use or purchase the stuff again.
