A scrap metal recycling company announced plans Tuesday to open a new facility in Auburn.
MetalX LLC says the new plant will create as many as 80 new jobs by 2017.
The company, which is based in Waterloo, says it will spend $12.4 million to buy, renovate and equip a 240,000 square-foot industrial building at 1101 Oren Drive, on a 30-acre site with main line rail access. The company expects to have the plant fully operational by September.
MetalX currently employs more than 100 people in Indiana, and plans to begin hiring for the Auburn facility next month.
Interested applicants can apply at the company’s Waterloo headquarters at 295 S. Commerce Drive or by emailing the company’s human resources department at employment@metalx.net.
