Fatal Crash Near Montpelier

A Defiance man dies in a suspected alcohol-related crash near Montpelier, Saturday evening. Officials tell reporters…Benjamin Gurwell, 58, was heading south on U.S. 20A…when he drove off the left side of the roadway…hitting a pole at the intersection with Ohio 107. Gurwell was pronounced dead at the scene. State and local investigators are on the case.
