A man fired a gun in an attempt to stop repossession in Steuben County.
According to a release from the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, 40 year old Michael Sutera of rural Angola has been charged with felony criminal recklessness with a firearm and pointing a firearm.
It happened last week as officers responded to a report about road rage.
Sheriff’s officials say the vehicles had crossed the county line and were stopped by LaGrange County sheriff’s deputies. That’s when at least one shot was fired from a handgun. Police said Sutera was trying to help a friend stop an apparent repossession.
Sutera was arraigned and jailed. He later posted a $1,000 bond and was released.
