Manuel Cruz Jr. is sentenced on three charges of gross sexual imposition. Cruz, 20, pled guilty to three charges, in all. He had two cases against him, having had two victims. In exchange for his plea, charges of unlawful restraint and rape, were dropped. Each of the gross sexual imposition charges indicated he compelled the person to submit by force or threat of the force. The victim was identified only as Jane Doe, who was 14 years old at the time. Leading up to his sentencing, Cruz’s defense attorney, submitted 34 letters of support for Cruz. These letters are from family, his girlfriend and her family, among others.
