WC Joins Settlement

The Williams County Commissioners will participate in the National Opioid Settlement with pharmacy chains CVS, Walgreens and Walmart and opioid manufacturers Teva and Allergan. They approved a resolution to receive and complete the opioid settlement participation forms, a requirement to be party to the national settlement. The forms will be on file with the commissioners. In 2021, nationwide settlements were reached to resolve all opioids litigation brought by states and local political subdivisions against the three largest pharmaceutical distributors. Under both the 2021 and 2022 National Settlements, at least 85% of the funds going directly to participating states and subdivisions must be used for abatement of the opioid epidemic.
