A New Bavaria man… charged with attempted murder in a strangulation case…is sentenced in a Henry County courtroom. Craig Heuerman, 47, gets placed on community control for two years …accused of aggravated assault and more. Heuerman is also ordered to make restitution of $356 dollars to the victim, Lucas Maag. He can’t have any contact with him, either. Heuerman, who was represented by attorney Stevin Groth of Toledo, had been indicted by a Henry County grand jury in October on charges of attempted murder. Prosecutors say…during an incident at Sager’s Bar in Holgate on Oct. 24, Heuerman strangled Maag. The victim was checked out medically, but not hospitalized, officials say. The attempted murder charge was filed before Ohio’s new strangulation law became effective in April.
